Quite frankly,not coping.
Everything's getting a liiiiittle bit too much at the moment.
I've got coursework up to my eyes. Exams coming up which means revision too. I'm tired but I'm up till 3 in the morning either doing nothing because I can't sleep, or doing coursework. "Things" are going on. Which yes,is horribly vague, but I don't feel comfortable talking about it. My dad's not well, he's stopped taking his meds, which makes my mum angry, so she moans at me about him,he moans about her, and she shouts/takes it out on me. My friend set her bedroom on fire last night, whilst she was in it,so she's now in hospital in the burns unit. Seeing it written down,I realise is doesn't look like much, and now I look all pathetic and stupid, but really. I'm not coping. |
Ash that looks like a hell of a lot to cope with, you dont look stupid or pathetic, thats too much for anyone to handle.
Im sorry about your friend, that must be really hard to handle, especially knowing theres nothing you can do for her. She is in the best and safest hands. Im not very good at advice, all I can suggest is that you try to break things down, concentrate on whats most important to you. Is there anyone you can get support from? Someone you are comfortable talking to, sometimes talking helps. Sorry this is useless xx |
Thanks.
It just feels like I'm walking into a wall y'know? Or walking round in circles, but going nowhere. I feels like a mass of weight or something. I'm just tired, and I don't want to be. |
Ash,
I'm sorry everythings so bad for you at the moment and you really don't look pathetic or stupid for not being able to cope. I am very sorry about your friend but Aimee's right, hospital is the best place for her to get the care she needs. With regards to not being able to sleep is there anything you can take for a little while? Just so that's not adding to the things stressing you. And i know it's hard to work out but do you know why you're not sleeping? Could it be things like caffiene or anything? With your parents. Do they know how much the things they're doing affect you? Do you think telling your dad how badly it affects you will help? And maybe try asking your mom to not take it out on you. I'm sorry i don't know your family situation so have no idea if that will make a difference. Does it help to get it out? If so i'm around if you want to talk. Take care, Tabby x |
Awh, Ash; I'm sorry you're having to cope with so much at the moment. You honestly don't look pathetic or stupid, it's okay to ask for support or advice when you need it. It doesn't look like nothing to me, I'm sure most people would feel the same if they were in the situation you're in.
I can relate to the coursework and exams issue, although mine are on a slightly smaller scale [GCSEs]. I'm sure you already know about making exam revision timetables and everything as you've been through it before. Are you working through the day as well as half the night? If so, then although coursework is pretty important, remember that your health comes first and you need a break now and again. If not, then try doing coursework in hour sections, then have a twenty minute break, then start again. I've been having sleeping difficulties too, and I went to the doctor who gave me a lot of tips and advice. She also gave me this website - www.patient.co.uk. I got recommended to try herbal sleeping pills, and although they didn't work for me, they do work for some people [apparently]! I know it's hard, but have you tried talking to your mum and dad about how you feel? This really isn't fair on youuu. I obviously don't know a lot about your family or the situation, but maybe just telling them how you feel is worth a try? I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, that must be hard for you, knowing there's not much you can do. Remember though that she is in the best place she can be. Take care. xo |
Not much? Blimey, I'm sure you're coping way better than I would be if I were in your shoes.
Sorry, not got any helpful advice. |
How are things going now Ash, love?
Chloe xx |
Yeah, thats more than I would like to handle, you shouldn't feel bad at all for being upset, that is a lot of stuff from all different directions to handle at once. I hope things are going better now, how is your friend doing?

My friend's out of hospital, but she's on crutches with her legs bandaged.
My other friend has leukemia, spelt wrong but what the hey,and she's got a blood clot in her arm and is getting worse not better. I'm back at uni now,so the home stuff's not really an issue, out of sight out of mind and all that. Sleeping's the same,as is the revision stuff, but I'm okay if I don't think about stuff. It's when I start to think about things that it gets a bit "bluergh" Thanks everyone, tres kind of you all. I'll be reet, and hopefully so will everyone else =] x |
I am sorry to hear about your friends hun. A best friend of mine had skin cancer and today would have been her b-day... the fact that you can pick your friends does make them more special, but my thoughts are with you and them and I hope all with be otay love.
Glad that you are back at Uni and that makes some things easier. Make sure you do some things you like, can be a good 'pick me up'. Take care hun, Chloe x |
That does sound like a lot to cope with. I hope your two friends will be ok. I don't really have any advice but wanted to offer some support. I hope your exams go well and then you can relax. Take care.
