Just joined and thought I would say hello. I wonder if I am the oldest on the site. I am 46 soon to be 47. I have2 grown up boys 23 and almost 21. I have used sh as a coping mechanism since I was a small child off and on. slipped up yesterday after 2 years. I am so angry and disapointed in myself. Used to facilitate a self help group but had to close due to lack of funding. Hoping to restart it again soon. It helped to keep me strong and safe. Have to go to work shortly but it is very hard to keep pretending I am feeling ok.:sad:

Welcome to VETS, its lovely to meet you. I know how hard it can be when you slip up after a long time, you can feel very disappointed in yourself. Try and look at the positives tho, be proud of yourself for making it through two years, that in itself is an amazing achievement. So don't give up hope, it shows you have that strength within you to fight this again. All we can do is take one day at a time and try our hardest. Anyways sorry for the essay, I hope you settle in here alright and please let me know if there is ever anything I can do for you. Take care of yourself

Hi, you are on the older scale of members but there are some around your age (and a lot of the time people will give advice to others regardless of age! I actually prefer to talk to people that are older than myself) so I wouldn't worry and we're all pretty nice. Hope you like it here.
