What to expect?
Well basically, i've been on oxytetracycline for nearly 2 years now for my skin and although it's much better it's nowhere near what i want it to be. My GP has therefore decided to refer me to a dermatologist and i was just wondering whether anyone would know what sort of things they ask you?? Do they ask u like stuff to do with nutrition and stress and all that? I'm kinda nervous and just looking for some advice!!

I dont know exactly what they would ask, but they might ask about your eating habits, what you eat and when you eat. They might ask about any stress you have been under. They might ask how much you drink and what medications you are on or have been on.
Try not to be nervous, they just need to know a few things so they know how they can help you. Dont think about it too much, try to stay busy. |
I had excema as a kid, so I've definitely seen a dermatologist a couple times.
I've never had too many questions asked, usually they'll just look at the skin, sometimes with a magnifying glass or a light. Last time I was there I was a little concerned about this mole on my shoulder (thought it might be skin cancer or something- eep) and the doctor had barely walked through the door when he told me it was just a scar. Anyway- don't stress! I've mostly found that they ask more questions regarding the skin itself (at least for me) as opposed to diet or anything like that. Just tell them what's been happening and they'll be able to help :) |
thank you!
