first aid issue (not medical)
 

ok so im training on a first aid course with the red cross.
its every thursday evening for 3 hours, the problem is its now almost impossible to keep arms covered.
like tonight when we had to have a fake cut on our arm and then our partner has to bandage it.
its not triggering its just getting my arms out alot is embarassing if nothing else, the girl tonight was really good about it. i used my right arm which is atleast a year old scars but what if i have to use my left arm which is a mess. im worried, its a massive group and they are always randomly picking people for demonstrations and stuff.


i dont know what im asking...
am i being stupid?
have you been in a situation where arms had to be shown?
any advice or words at all would be appreciated.

I've had that problem with work. I tend to just try and keep them covered with foundation even when i have long sleeves on.. Just in case. If people do see dont worry , remember you have nothing to be ashamed of (even though i understand its embarrasing because personally i always panic when my arms are on show.

hi hun I'm a member of st john ambulance, if at all appropriate use your other arm that don't have as many cuts/scars on it.

If that aint helpful try just sticking an arm warmer over the arm. where most of your cuts are on training nights

I had the issue last week when my senior went LEFT ARM LASERATION BANDAGE IT think though coz it was a very competitive night she hopefully didn't mind... She aint said anything anyways if she did see anything...

Maybe try having a quiet word with the people running the course? You don't even need to explain what caused the scars, just that you have them and you feel uncomfortable showing them.

its a course at my uni, like a society (but its run by the red cross and we can work for the red cross after), so we are all in the same big hall and there is like 100 of us all doing it.
makes it more awkward...
