In London you can get a Freedom Pass Oyster Card.
But you have to be CPA enhanced to qualify. |
Oh right okay :)

If you have no bills, and you have a job, why the did you apply for DLA in the first place? And I can't imagine you also need a free bus pass if you have that much expendable income...
|
Hm yeah true. It was when i was in hospital they said they would help me sort out benifits and stuff cos at the time i lived independantly, and was at college.. am actually going to deleat this thread cos i feel abit of a tool now :/

I don't know what you wrote initially, but even if you have a job and live at home, you can still be entitled to DLA, and if you are then apply for it.
DLA comes in handy for the costs incurred by your illness, for example getting taxis if you cant go on buses, or paying for your prescription fees and the like. |
Don't feel bad about it -- the government clearly thought you deserve the money or they wouldn't have given it to you. If you're living with your parents, maybe you could give them the DLA money to help cover your expenses living with them? Just because you personally aren't paying the bills doesn't mean you don't actually have any expenses. I'm assuming that if you weren't ill, you'd be living independently, and your parents wouldn't still be supporting you? The idea of DLA would be that the government is supporting you, rather than your parents, so even if you're living with your parents, the DLA money could still cover your expenses for them...

I agree with what's been said. DLA isn't income assessed, it's based on your needs and how you cope with stuff etc.
Don't feel bad for coping. As a side note, I filled out the form for DLA this week. Considering it's something that's supposed to help you, it was a truly awful experience. I was really shocked by how upset that form made me feel. I'm so glad I finally finished it. I don't even really care what their response is, as long as I don't have to fill it out again! |
