New members hugs
so I just clicked on a members profile and it says they have posted three times but they havent posted but hugged threads three times. So my question to you people is Since when have hugs counted as posts?
*scratches head* |
Maybe they haven't? Maybe their posts got moved/deleted so that they can no longer be seen? Lots of explanations (:
|
Nope Josh, hugs count as posts, and have since V3 opened :)
|
But that's silly. Is there any particular reason why it's that way? *pokes for questions*
|
Harley did explain at one point, and I THINK it was a way to allow people who may lurk and not post much but read a lot of posts a way to feel and appear active in the community.
|
That's actually a good point. Though I always assumed that was the reason for the "Total Hugs: 532" part of the profile? Oh well.
p.s. Sorry Heidi, I have seem to have taken over this thread; I will stop posting now. (: |
^ Thats what I was just thinking xD.
|
I thought that number was the amount of time you've hugged a thread, and not how many times your threads have been hugged, or anything of the sort..?
Maybe I was wrong, x |
There is a
Total posts Total Hugs Hugged x times in x threads So it basically tells you how many posts you've made (which I have just discoveredd includes hugs :)), total times you have hugged and toal you have been hugged. Right? |
ohhhh that is so silly making hugs count for posts, seeing as there is a "total hugs etc etc" thing right next to your post count in the profile.
ps. out of curiousity does that mean a member could join, hug x number of threads & then have access to the "other" forums without making a single post? |
No idea linda. Although post count isn't the only thing that allows people to access those boards, time is a factor also.
And starnight, yes you are right. |
