Helen, your the only one who can decide if its right. if you honestly want to try with him again, then go for it. If your unsure, why not rush into things, think it over?
its entirely your choice helen. If YOU want to date him again, then only you can decide to or not. If you do think it right, then go for it. if he makes you happy then that is all you, i or any of us can ask.

I can only repeat whats been said its up to you and every situation will be different I have gone back out with an ex and it was an awful mistake but I have gone back out with another and it was probably one of the best things I ever done.
And if you can't decide I guess you have to decide wether you are wiling to take the risk and possibly get hurt if it doesnt work out. But if you do decide to I woul just take it slow and see how it goes

I think you need to seriously evaluate what went wrong last time and ask yourself "would it be any different this time?"

Why was it complicated last time? And has anything changed that would stop things getting so complicated this time?

I know I may sound harsh saying this, but I do think you need to know you won't end up getting hurt.
