Im Losing It Just Weeks Out Of Hospital

hey there...
well ive posted here quite a few times about being in hospital and stuff and i just got discharged there on the 23rd of September after 7 months... even tho ive only been out a few weeks everything is just going down hill and im afraid they'll send me back in! even though i havent tryed to commit suicide nor am i contemplating it ive self harmed and last nite i cut myself and spent the whole night in A&E gettin 15 stitches and glued... i cant seem to cope being out and i feel so unsafe... my moods low, im hardly sleeping and my heads wrecked... has this happened anyone else and what should i do? will they send me back in... i really dont want to go but because ive been detained before does this make them liable to detain me again...

please help me if this has happened before to anyone else... :crying::crying:

Hey i got discharged on the same date as you :) I don't know much about how easily they can detain you again...you should let people know if you're really feeling bad, they're there to help x

im really sorry your having such a hard time and feeling so bad that you feel the need to hurt yourself so seriously.Though i would go into hospital vountarily if i had to a couple of years ago i have never ever been detained, only threatened with it so im not sure if i can answer your question about if youve been detained once does this make it more likely to happen again. My guess is that it probably might though but obviously they would still have to have good grounds for doing this this time and would have to be able to show that from how you are etc.Thats what i think anyway but i could be wrong.

What did A,E say when you went?Did they want you back in hospital or did you see someone regarding your mental health and if so what did they think?Did they mention hospital or say they may re-admit you? Also you are getting any support in the community now they have discharged you and what is happening with that?

Sorry for all the questions but just trying to understand everything so i can give you the best support possible but please don't feel you have to answer anything if you don't want to.

Also i can understand you really not wanting to go back to hosp and i think i might well feel like that too if i were in that situation but may it not be a bad idea to have a little longer there rather than seriously hurting yourself if you are struggling to cope?

Or could you perhaps tell mental health that you are struggling but making it clear you dont want to go into hospital but that you would accept their help [if you will] and would like more intensive support from them in the community or something like the crisis team?

i dont know. These are just my ideas.i hope that you get better soon. And please dont beat yourself up.It can be very hard going from being in hospital to going back to the community and im sure people understand that and would want to support you as best they can.

could you call the crisis team or anything? let them know you need extra support? I've been detained before too for months, but my recent diagnosis of borderline has made it very unlikely that they will detain me unless i loose it completely (which i did sunday, hence me being under section again) i dont think they'd force you to stay in hospital unless you were feeling suicidal.. but they are there to help, some people dont have any help available to them... good luck hun xox
p.s. are there any things, curcumstances or situations that make you feel worse or more at risk? I feel worse when i'm alone..

in A&E i didnt see anyone regarding my mental health... ive only seen my outside worker once (i was in spain just after my discharge) and il be seeing her again this friday which i told the ones at A&E. they didnt mention re-admittin me but im dreadin that my outside worker will say il have to go back in and this im dreading... what was your experience after you left hospital?

what exactly is the crisis team... maybe we call it differently in ireland... im sorry to hear your in hospital again... never a nice place to be... i no i need the help but i really dont fancy going back in... the reason im asking about being detained again is becuase the second time i got detained was because i was gettin restained alot because of repeatedly harming myself when i was in the adolesant ward...

yea i usually feel alot worse when im alone or i have alot of time on my hands which i do bcos im not aloud to go work or uni yet... xo

I think things are harder when you leave hospital after a long stay, I know I became 'instituitionalised'. To go from no freedom and all u're decisions being made for you, to having to look after yourself and make your own choices is hard. Also after having 24 hr support to nothing (or a couple of appointments a week) is terrifying.I think it'll just take time to get back on your feet, you can do this!
