Dependent Personality Disorder
 

Does anyone have dependent personality disorder here? I think I may have it but I'm too scared to go to my doctor... I got really attatched to someone and found myself doing stupid things to get his attention, to get him to comfort me, even cutting. I used to text him about ten times a day and told him everything about me. Whenever I thought he was just going to ditch me I'd get hysterical. And when he told someone else about all this, I thought I was gonna burst cos it was like our little secret. But as I soon as his help ended, I felt I needed someone else, someone to know everything about me. And know I think I'm dependent on that person as well too. I don't know what to do.

Any advice? :-D

Eeek, I think I have it though nobody likes to diagnose me with anything, no idea why, ha ha, they just want to focus on helping me & all but I may have it, I'll ask my doctor.

I'm so, so dependent on someone&I get awfully clingy&very jealous if he is spending time with others, though I don't prevent that, I do have bad jealousy issues, and I crave his attention so, so bad it's not even funny.

I'd advise going to your doctor and discussing this because they can help you with it. ;)

i think i have it too!! i get obsessed with people like you. i do what other people tell me to, because i don't want them to leave me. but i have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, so it may be it, i don't know. ask your doctor about it. i know you don't feel comfortable, but thats why he is there for. i will ask my doctor too.

I definately have this... but I go to the extent of trying to keep an eye on them even though i'm out of their life. e.g. check to see if they are still working where there were or soemthing.. >_>

Yep, I do that too. The more they don't reply, the more I send. If that makes sense. :confused:
