swollen lymphnode and sickness

im one of these ppl that will avoid the doctors at all costs, but i'd like to know your opinion on something.

I have a swollen lymphnode in my armpit and its sore when i move my arm up and down..only had it a couple of days so far.

I've also been feeling sick and apsoloutely shattered every day for a while and one day i almost fainted twice... I put this down to stress (exams and other things and stopping SI) but could the two be connected? and if so.. what dya think it could be?

Stress?
A virous?

Any help would be fully appreciatied.
I know I should go to the doctor about these things, but I dont want to waste their time. x

[EDIT- I just remembered I was suspected of having glandular fever a while back, but it cleared up with penicilin so thought it was just tonsilitus. could the gland in my armpit be to do with that?]

i think going to the docs would be the best. swollen lymphnodes are usually a sign of something really not right. the last time i had them swollen undermy arms and neck and ended up having mono. best to go to docs.
hope you feel better soon.
much love.
xx

Swollen lymph nodes means an infection, or that something is causing your immune system to kick into overdrive. Even if you don't like doctors, you need to go and get checked out. Especially because you were suspected of having glandular fever before. Once an infection reaches one lymph node, it can easily spread to others, and you will just keep getting sicker and sicker.

you should go now. it could be something simple, or something serious. go as soon as possible ok?

Ok thanks. I showed my mum for her opinion and she said she could feel sumthing, so if it doesnt clear up in a couple days to go to the docs.

She said "don't worry, at your age it's not gunna be something serious".
Which translates as "im worried".

And I know she was refering to cancer. But I know theres no point thinking it is at all to do with that cos I know it wont be.
But I do have a responsibilty to her to get checked out considering her mum died of breast cancer and my auntie is dying of breast cancer.
