Nurse embaressed me :(
 

ive been in hospital now for 7 months as some as u may well no and ive been in an adult ward for the past month...

the thing is theres this really nasty nurse!
anyway one nite i had become very distressed and because i had no implements to use for self harmin i decided to bang my head of the wall which left a pretty big bruise on my head!

a few days later this nasty nurse was talkin 2 one of the other girls who was another patient outside my room... when i came out of my room the girl asked me what had happened to my head and feelin embarresd i really didnt wanna say anythin so i tried to shrug it of as having a bad nite... then the nurse kept on naggin at me to tell her what had happened and completly embarressed me and made me feel so small...

now i feel awful.... :crying:
duno why i wrote this but i needed a wee rant to get things off my chest!!

*hugs* That's rough...I'm sorry she did that. That was totally inappropriate, you shouldn't have had to say anything if you didn't want to.

I'm sorry she kept nagging you when you didn't feel ready ((gentle hug))

In england we have something called PALS (patient advice liason service) pethaps Ireland have something similar and you can discuss your concerns about this Nurse to them?

I'm sorry to hear this Nurse is like this.

i agree wiht sarah, i think you should make a complaint about her or at least seek advice from pals.
if she is working on this ward then she should be aware of the conditions and understand that she needs to think about her actions and what the consequences should be.

im sorry that this happened to you, is there anyone....dr/nurse etc on the ward that you like and trust that maybe you could talk to about your struggles at the mo.... sorry dont know too much about inpatient.

This was wrong and sounds like understandably it has really upset you.Have you managed to talk to someone about this or do you think you could do so?Maybe PALS or a similar service or somebody you know if you feel more comfortable?im sorry that this happened to you.It must have been really upsetting and difficult for you.How have things been in hospital since and how are you feeling?Always here if you want to talk more.And im sure many others would want to be here for you too.Hope that you are ok.

Maybe she meant no harm by it, but definatly if you feel she was being out of order you can complain about this to whoever is in charge

I had a nurse when I was IP who used to make fun of my self harm
saying that it was really superficial and this led to me doing worse and worse SI so I felt I was good enough for her or something
Some people are just very thoughtless sometimes I guess.....

Sure sounds like a bitch. I agree with the above suggestion of speaking to her superior about how it made you feel.
This would have upset me as well. *hugs*
