*triggering (SI/Alcohol Abuse)* bleargh. diagnosis

so I dont even know why the **** I'm posting this. probably to get some replies, thats the usual reason for posting.

so I'm diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia though on my driving license app it said major depression with psychotic symptoms. whatever.

But I think my symptoms reflect more accurately someone with bipolar disorder. **** knows which type, I'm not a friggin doctor :-D

I swing between delusions of grandeur and heightened periods of energetic behaviour and depression where I realise that actually, I'm ****ing insignificant. sorry for the language.

and I'm slipping back into alcohol abuse and wanting to SI. and OD. and kill people.

what do you think? which diagnosis sounds right?

haha probs wont get many replies. oh well, you try hard, thats what counts :-D

Minotaur 28-08-2008 11:12 PM

Yup, that sounds more like Bipolar Disorder to me too. Then again, I'm not a doctor either.

Mysophobia 28-08-2008 11:17 PM

Obviously i'm not a doctor, but those are some of the symptoms of bipolar disorder so perhaps you should bring this up with your psychiatrist or whoever? Ask them why they diagnosed you with schizophrenia as opposed to bipolar, they might have a good reason.

flymetothemoon 28-08-2008 11:24 PM

yeah. damn. was hoping to avoid doctors. oh well.

flymetothemoon 28-08-2008 11:32 PM

and thus ends the replies! wahey! time to go get drunk XDXDXD see ya'll!

Steel Maiden 30-08-2008 07:00 PM

flymetothemoon 02-09-2008 04:32 PM

cheers SM. bleargh, dont worry about me. I'll be alright in the end.

Steel Maiden 02-09-2008 04:47 PM

E-mail or txt me any time. Well, except for the fact that I'm going on holiday tomorrow.
Keep strong.

I am not medically trained and neither are the majority of people here so you really need to ask your psychiatrist/doctor.

But part of bipolar disorder is also psychosis. You can have depressive psychosis or manic psychosis.

flymetothemoon 15-09-2008 12:58 PM

yeah...thanks for the replies guys. I can't be ****ed with stupid doctors anymore...might as well live like there's nothing wrong ;)

and hey, everyone likes me more when I'm drunk anyway...they say I'm so much funnier and talkative.

Apologies for the late reply, but how are you doing now? What meds are you on? If I drink so much as half a pint of cider, the alcohol reacts with my meds and I fall into a deep sleep for about 12 hours.

any queries about what to put on your license application you should ask your doctor. that way you can be sure you are putting down the right info.

If you don't get on with your current psych could you ask to be sent for a 2nd opinion? Perhaps your GP could advise you on this?
I know some doctors arn't good in the ways they do things but there are some decent ones out there, just a case of being patient and perservering till you find the right one.

That is beautifully and wisely said.

Excellent. Why is your mood "stressed"?

flymetothemoon 20-09-2008 08:20 PM

lol ^_^

yeah, dont worry, I'm fine. I haven;t drunk in so long it makes me feel physically sick, but heyyyyy.

flymetothemoon 21-09-2008 11:29 AM

lol...you know things are ****ed up though, when you cant be happy without alcohol - I'm expecting this thread to get moved to the substance abuse forums...if you still wanna reply hahaha

flymetothemoon 21-09-2008 07:32 PM

tbh I dont know.

Steel Maiden 21-09-2008 09:39 PM

I am glad that you haven't drunk for 4 days. The effects of not drinking will stay for you for a bit, but I think things will get better with time if you stop drinking.

flymetothemoon 21-09-2008 10:06 PM

eh...haha...I really want a drink right now haha *unhappy face*
