living alone
 

i live by myself now!!! i haven't moved, but my flatmate is moving to England and i have decided to take my time finding a fab new one rather than run in to a deal with a scuzzy roomie.

i am kinda excited about it - freedom to do what i like AND - while i love my old flatmate, she wasn't the cleanest and my borderline OCD had me scrubbing after her.

Yesterday i ran around all day making the place shiny, ready for a date in the evening (it went fabulously - i definitely impressed with my cooking).

I think i am going to like being alone - have never had a date at home while i have lived here (Japanese flats are far to small for dates with roomies around).

Yes, there is nothing like living alone as they say, but after over two years, I have actually grown to hate it! Still, living alone is better than having a 'scuzzy roomie' as you say, so I'm putting up with it.

i came to japan on vacation and loved it so i wanted to come back. i love the culture, the challenge of learning the language and the opportunity to travel in asia.

i only came here for a year but two and a half years later i still can't imagine leaving. i still want to visit vietnam and cambodia while i am here. next plan for living is New Zealand and Australia - i have to do those before i am 30 so 2 years left means i gotta go soon. although the way things are going i will still be in japan 10 years from now.

ooh - that is a definite on my stop - i have a friend who is from there - she used to live in japan - i think she lives in melbourne now, but visits a lot so i want to go.

If you're visiting Aus then you HAVE to visit Tassie. I've had a lot of people say the highlight of their australia visit was Tassie....
