Have some questions about Prozac
 

I have had depression for years and in the past few months have also been diagnosed with OCD. I've been seeing a therapist for the last few months and I really trust and like her. Just 2 days ago I went to the doctors and was started on Prozac for my depression and my OCD. I was just wondering if anyone here was on it? I've been on antidepressants once before and they didn't really work for me, so I'm just wondering if Prozac helped anyone here, how they could tell it was working (and I know everybody's experience is different), and about how long it took. If anyone is willing to share their experiences with Prozac it would be helpful.

ive been on it for 24days, got some pretty nasty side effects to begin with, major sickness and upset tummy for about 2-3wks and has really stopped my appetite and i sweat like a pig now and overheat easily BUT with regards to my depression i have been quite good, havent cut the whole time ive been on it and generally feel alot better, not great but a huge improvement to how i was. however ive been off work the whole time ive been taking it so that is also something i need to factor in to how ive been feeling. go back on wed so that'll be the big test of how good it is.

there is no way of actually KNOWING it is working, except for how you feel in yourself, it is completely subjective. the dr said to me that can take between 2-6wks before you start feeling the benefits so give it a go :)

I've been on Prozac for 2 years and I love it. I'm on it for depression and OCD. I didn't have any of the negative side effects, except that I sweat more and I had dry mouth for awhile. I love it and my doctor is trying to take me off of it but I won't let her because it makes me feel ok. Try it and see. I hope it works for you.

I had a weeks high when taking Prozac but then things went back to normal. Everyone is different though and it's worth giving it a try. I hope it helps. Take care.

I have been on prozac for a few months ..well maybe since DEcember i think ? I don't really remeber. I have been on many kinds. I am feeling abit of a difference , like my thoughts are not bad more so they have decresed with my OCD of Taking pills has been about the same. I guess its kinda hard to state what i feel like because i am not even sure yet. And its been a long time. I want to go up to 60mg on them since i am only on 40mg but my Dr. Hasn't stated that i need to or given any hints towards it . I am abit of afarid to ask her. As for sideeffects . I have been dissy and really sleepy with dry mouth and upset stomach ..but it could alos be were i take another medcation not realted to any of mental illness . Its for my allergies so yeah. Give it a try !!
