Which is worse?

Is it worse to lie to your friends in order to protect them, or is it worse to tell them everything even though it worries them and (I think) scares them? *A* and *C* both know pretty much everything about my SI, and know a LITTLE about the kind of suicidal thoughts. But I told *A* that I was going to try to get better again. But I'm not so sure it'll work. I want it too... But I dunno. When I'm not trying to stop, things are just so much better. I don't know if I should just try to not bring it up so that they think everything is good, or tell them that I"m still cutting. I just cut, and it bled like crazy. It's stopped now, but I loved the feeling. I didn't want to stop it...
I'm so confused over what I should do now. Tell them and worry them, or lie to them, at least partially, and make them think everything is okay.
Gah!
This is not helping at all.

i don't know... it's something I've often wondered myself. I'm selfish so my friends all know, because it makes me feel better to know they care, but I often wonder if it was wrong of me to tell them...

I found the pchycological crisis ward at the hospital where I volunteer. It's a pediatric hospital and I'm still technically a patient there even though I haven't seen a doctor there in a while. I want so bad to be a patient in that mental crisis ward so that I can finally feel safe. I can't though. That would show everyone how messed up things are. I want to feel safe though.

Often wards like those can seem like the answer as they represent a safe bubble from the world, but in all honesty, having been in a unit myself, if you are going in purely to be protected from yourself, when you come out you are going to be right back to square one. If you feel that a unit is the only option for keeping you safe/and might help you get better then it is an option worth thinking about, but if there are any other options for treatment, I would use them. Psych units are hard to get in, and harder to get out of.

I know what you mean, its a really tricky situation. I really don't like worrying my friends, but sometimes they'll beg me to tell them whats going on, as they say they'll worry more if they don't know.

I've only told three people
My ex-boyfriend [he helped me get better, but then dumped me because it was stressing him out]
My current boyfriend [he is much more caring and he used to SI too, so he understands]
And my Best friends [she was shocked and a little scared, and didnt know what to say exactly]

So as you can see each one had a different outcome, i guess it just all depends on the person
