A Beautiful Mind

The film is good, but the book "A Beautiful Mind" is very good and I recommend it whether you've seen the film or not.

I found the film really triggering but its really good!
We had to watch it in Psychology last friday!

This is next on my 'to read' list. I love the film, one of my top 10 favourites.

ooh i forgot there was a book. i love the film, though, it's brilliant. *goes in search of book*

Steel Maiden 28-06-2008 08:12 PM

I'm still reading the book, but the film was a bit triggering, but great :). Although the film missed out a lot that is mentioned in the book so far.

nowhereman 29-06-2008 06:59 AM

I tried watching the film twice but just couldn't cos of all the maths in it, I hate and don't understand maths. Is the book like that as well?

Steel Maiden 29-06-2008 07:33 AM

Yes the book does have a lot of maths in it.
I cannot sympathise because I'm quite a maths nerd.

Fair play to you. I wish I could understand maths better, I just can't get my head around numbers. I'm much better with words.

Steel Maiden 02-07-2008 08:23 AM

Other way around for me. I actually go as far as to convert words into numbers to make it easier to remember. For example, learning a verse of poetry never worked for me, but I know all the powers of 2 up to 2^37 = 137,438,953,472.

I'll order the book from ebay .

I hope you will like it.

Popple 27-02-2009 06:25 PM

I love the film! Its so sad but it was rather triggering watching it in psychology with people making rude comments and that >.<

Steel Maiden 27-02-2009 07:50 PM

People were making rude comments? Why?!

Popple 27-02-2009 07:53 PM

Because my class actually most my sixth form are ignorant bastards and they are like this with everything thankfully at least in one of my psychology classes the teacher is amazing and goes made when people say anything

suspendeddisconnect 01-03-2009 06:48 AM

That sucks. I can't stand people who are ignorant like that.

Steel Maiden 06-03-2009 09:25 PM

Yeah, the film left out a lot sadly. But the book and the film are great.
