Multiple computers

Arrrrg! :s

So in the office I have 3 computers on my desk, all linked to 1 keyboard and mouse - we tried it with separate keyboards and it was just insanely confusing (especially for my boss coz I set one up left handed n the other right) so we found some nice software

anyway, 1 computer for testing, 1 computer for development and my laptop for umm skiving ;)

so I'm working away as you do, and nudge my mouse ever so slightly and it moves onto the computer beside it, so I start off writing say an email and finish the sentence on the wrong screen usually typing what appears to be random garbage in some code

so to actually give this post a point, anyone else got a weird or confusing desk set up either at home or at work?

I have dual monitors. A TV screen plugged into my laptop :]

I have dual monitors too - an LCD monitor plugged into my laptop.

I effectively treat my laptop as a desktop. I have a keyboard, mouse, speakers, microphone, external hard drive, monitor, printer, web cam and a TV card all plugged into mine as well as the power cable and an Ethernet cable.

It takes me a while to unplug everything and actually make it portable.

When you are as computer inept as I am, just a laptop is confusing! :p

Hehe, naw, I just have my stand alone laptop. For the moment I don't have the room for anything fancy however, when I move out I plan on connecting my laptop to my TV cause it has super powers and can play all sorts of formats of movies and stuff. However, I never did see the need for more then one screen. Could someone explain that to me?

My husband and I have his and hers desk tops and lap tops. Both lap top computers went on vacation with us. So while I talk to y'all, he can play the latest version of Civilisation.

My husband has dual monitors at work so he can see everything he has to so he can do his programming work. When our house was being fumigated he set up a laptop for me in his office too.

For general day to day use, not much.

However, when I'm doing uni work, I can have all my research up on one screen and be writing the assignment on the other - saves having to keep flicking backwards and forwards or printing out pages of info for about 4 sentences worth.

It's (apparently) good for gaming too - you can have the game screen up on one and then maps and info shizzle that you need up on the other.

Oh man, I totally need that for Oblivion.

I have dual monitors at work, and tend to have to use more than one computer for stuff. I have been known to be working on 3 computers at once, much to my boss's bewilderment. But it works.

I have 2 at home too but tend to use my laptop.
