early intervention team

I've got a meeting with these people next week and I'm so scared, I've already been seeing a psychiatrist who knows [almost] everything about me as it is, so I was just wondering what these people do, what they might ask or how, if at all, I should prepare? Thanks.

Also I haven't been given a concrete diagnosis, do you think these people would be able to do that?

Thanks.

Just to make sure, is that the early intervention team for psychosis? Because i started seeing the team in my area a couple of weeks ago, and they seem a REALLY good team to get support from. The initial meeting will be an assessment to see if you meet the requirements for their service, and if you dont, they will refer you to other people who may be able to help. The questions they ask is about the symptoms youve been having, for how long, how you cope with them, etc..But if they do decide to take you on, for me itll be three years-thats the standard time for it in my area, where abouts are you from? So you will get a CPN who will see you as much as needed, and there will be a psychiatrist/psychologist on your team as well who youll be able to see regularly. Keep us posted with how it goes. Good luck!

Oh and i forgot to add, the psychiatrist will probably on the assessment give you a diagnosis, so you know what you're dealing with. I hope thats helped x

a couple of months ago i got referred to them by the camhs psych. i've only met one person from the team, and the first time we talked about my circumstances - family, friends, school, camhs etc. the next week we met again and she asked questions about depression, SH, suicidality, hallucinations, delusions, voices, paranoia, mania, that kind of thing. the third time we met, it was the official assessment with my psych there, at which they decided i didn't have psychosis but i would see the same woman for another few weeks. i now get the impression that might be a little longer to allow for continuity while i chnage to adult services, as i'm 17. quite a different experience from little miss's, which is good, as they do try to do what is best for you, whatever the outcome of your assessment. i have found the person from the team much more practical and helpful than the worker from camhs, but that may just be a persoal thing.
