I'm at work myself right now, so can't reply in the depth that I would like. Give me a nudge via pm if I don't get back to this this evening. :)

What I found really helpful was this Mind guide to surviving working life .

Heya,
Work really can be such a pain in the ass, especially when you are feeling really down. I too have cried/freaked or I go really quiet and just go work in the office if I feel rubbish.
Are you having any therapy or councilling? It really can help to just talk through things with someone, and look at the things from a new angle. Also to learn coping techniques while you are at work might be benifical to you as well.
When I'm at work - and can't escape to the office lol - I busy my self with things. Sorting and re-sorting the displays, tidying the shop floor, reorganising the bags. Just means your focusing on things, instead of how you are feeling.
Maybe take a break from work, just a month or two, to try and sort out your feelings - if thats possible. Or maybe look for a part time job - a little less stress and let you cope with everything else going on?
I hope some of this helped, the link that ~longing~tears~ tears gave you is really good and I suggest you take a good look at that.
PM me is you want/need to talk. Take Care Jen xx

Yep, my manager found it helpful, too. :)

Its ok to cry. Yes, even at work. Really. [It can be harder when you're facing customers though] When I was first transferred from my public facing role to office based when I was most ill, I burst into tears on my first day! But it was ok.
What happens when you cry at work and feel vulnerable? Does your manager know that you're unwell and might need some extra space and understanding just now? I have in the past needed time out from the work to get through a panic attack or hold my tears safely, and just 5 minutes away from my desk or the counter in the loo and breathing and such to reconnect with myself again has really helped.

I made an information sheet for my manager about how my illness effects me and what helps me manage the symptoms I experience at work most effectively. I also gave her a printout of the leaflet linked above.
This is something you might like to bear in mind with your new job.
