RIP Kwilley

My cat, Kwilley, died today. She was 17, and I've had her since I picked her out as a kitten at the rescue centre when I was just a toddler. Might sound silly cos she was 'just' a cat, but I'm still really beyond gutted :(

RIP Kwilley, will miss you loads.

(Her obscure name, incidentally, was as a result of my parents letting their two-year-old son name the new pet :))

Awh. Sorry to hear about Kwilley. I love cats and it's always been hard when they have passed. She lived a long life and you obviously loved her very much.
I have a naming story similar to yours. When we first got a cat when I was rather young, I apparently couldn't say kitty, I would say kiki. So it stuck. :)
Remember the happy times you've had with your cat. Celebrate her life.

Aye, this is true :) She was ace, and she was an old dear. To be honest it had got to the stage where she just slept for 23 hours a day, surfaced for a while to eat, and went back to sleep again - she didn't have an enormous quality of life any more. Still really sad though.

My cat was 17 too
Died just over a week ago
So I know how you feel....

Lewis The Second 15-06-2007 06:37 PM

Thank you *hugs*

thefool 15-06-2007 06:39 PM

*hugs* Im sorry to hear that. It sucks to lose a pet. :(

SugarKane 15-06-2007 06:46 PM

Aw sorry to hear that :( she reached a ripe old age though and you'll always have good memories of her. It's so hard losing a pet you grew up with, my dog Lucy had to be put to sleep last year after being part of my life since I was 12. It breaks your heart. A pet is never 'just' a pet though, you have every right to grieve for her x

Thanks for your support, people :)

Awe, im so sorry hun. My cat Todd is also 17, he's getting a bit past it. When i get some money the first thing im doing with it is tattooing my cats names into my wrists. I've have todd since i was 2 aswell, im 18 now and have looked after him since i was 6. I dread the day he leaves which is why im gonna get a tattoo so i'll always remember my first pet.

confuzzled 16-06-2007 04:39 PM

Sorry to hear about your loss honey.
I know part of what you're going through as i lost my cat, and he wasn't just an animal. He was family.
R.I.O Kwilley.
