Going On 9 Months
 

It's going on 9 months since both of my parents passed away. My mum passed 8 days after we burried my dad. Both had been sick for some time.

My dad was a diabetic and on home dialysis. He had been in an out of hospitals and rehabs due to suffering 3 strokes and having both his legs amputated above the knee. We took him home to take care of him cause my mum and I didn't want him to die in a hospital. My dad lasted a month and a half at home and made it to his 60th birthday on August 23rd. He passed away September 15th at 11:29pm with my mum and I at his side. While he was home, my mum and I were trained to set up and hook him up to the dialysis machine. He was on PD(home peritoneal dialysis). Which he was hooked up to at night for 10 hours.

As for my mum, she had suffered a stroke back in 2004 and never really recovered from it. She also had COPD and was on oxygen. She passed away September 24 at 5:03pm at the hospital. Long story about that and I don't want to get into it at this point.

I'm still dealing with it and I'm still in the first stage of grief after this long.

That's not surprising. It's an awful lot to deal with all at once, and therefore, your grief process will take longer.

I couldn't imagine that, losing both my parents 9 days apart.
