It made me smile :)
So, I was on the phone to my brother yesterday afternoon when there was a knock at the door, he stayed on the phone to me but went to answer it and the conversation went something like this:
Guy at door: Is Robert Smith in? Brother: No he's at work Guy: Does he live here? Brother: Yes, why? Guy: *shows a pic of driver's license* Is that him? Brother: Erm, yeah, I think so, hang on, yeah thats definitely him Guy: This is his wallet, I found it on the street just up the road earlier. It's still got all his bank cards and driver's license and stuff in. Brother: Wow cheers mate, and everythings still in there yeah, what's your name? Guy: Robert Bro: What so your Robert as well? And then the conversation went on. But yeah I was impressed, this guy has found my dads wallet, obviously looked in it, found the address on the drivers license and taken back! Was really suprised. Made me happy though as it shows there are still honest people about. It's definitely saying something for it to be returned in the area my dad lives in, it's not the nicest of places!! But yeah just felt like sharing that. |
thats really sweet of the person.
was all the cash still in it? |
Not sure, haven't actually spoken to my dad since. Knowing my dad there was probably at least £40 in it. My brother found out where the guy lived so me dad could go and see him to say thanks if he wanted. It had his oyster card in as well. Seriously the contents of my dads wallet must be loads, shame I don't know his pin number, lol.

haha.

thats why its great knowing all my mums pin numbers.
|
I know my mum's but thats no good as she is in a different country!
|
Awh. That's really nice.
|
wow thats really nice
years ago i lost my phone and two boys found it and dialled home to return it when they came round my mum gave them a tenner to say thanks |
Thats cool. I remember i once left my then new mobile phone in the pub. Didn't realise for like 3 hours. I went back and someone had handed it in. Was very surprised cause the area the pubs in isn't the nicest area. It's always nice knowing there are still some decent people out there.
|
Awh, thats lovely of him and it is reassuring knowing there are decent people out there!
|
aw, that's so nice :]
|
Its nice when things like that happen
|
Bet the money was gone.
|
Thats good of him :-)
I did that with someones phone |
Can we please focus on the best part of the story i.e. that your dad's name is ROBERT SMITH?!
|
...Does this mean you have a Granny Smith?
Dicky! |

When i read Robert Smith i thought this was a thread about The Cure. (Y) x |
Thats really nice. It would NEVER happen where i live unless it was just a wallet or purse with no money and no cards. Then it would be returned in the hope of a reward!
