Am I weird?
I was wondering if anybody else writes letters to a lost loved one. I have been writing letters to my miscarried children every week. I wrote the first one on my due date, it helped to write what I wanted to say to them. I don't send them anywhere, I just save the letters to my desktop.
Is this weird? Does anybody else do this? I want to stop being so sad all the time. Any advice will help. Zelda |
Heya,
It's not weird at all. I remember when my Grandad died, I was going to write a letter and put it in a bottle and throw it in the sea, but I never got round to it. I wish I had now. I think it's a great way of expressing how you feel. This must be really hard for you, I'm so sorry. Nat. xo |
First of all hunni in our own ways we are all weird, but what your doing is in no way weird. Infact I think it's a very smart move, it helps you express how you feel and sometimes seeing things in words makes them easier to handle then being cooped up in your head.
My grandad died over 6? years ago now and I have on the odd occasion wrote letters to him. take care of yourself hunni and if you ever want to chat pm me beth xxx |
i dont think it is wierd at all. i think it is a perfectly good way of connecting with your children, which i think is very important.

Well, I don't write to loved ones, but more to an imaginary person in my head (so I guess that makes ME the weird one). I keep a journal at diaryland.com where all the letters are saved. *hugs* I hope you feel better hon. I have very little advice, not knowing too much about you, but perhaps trying to get out and have some fun? Do things that you know you enjoy and spend time with people who care about you.

hi sweetie,
it's not weird in the slightest, its one of the main things that helps a lot of people when they are grieving because it keeps that connection and gives you an outlet for your feelings. i am sorry gor your loss but well done on trying to deal with your grief through writing these letters alot of people wouldnt do that, this doesnt make you weird it makes you very strong and brave take care katy xx |
It isnt weird at all. My gf died a couple of years back now, and I still on occassion write letters to her. Its just one of the little quirks of the human spirit thats all

As has been said, it's not weird at all, and it can be a really good way of getting out what you want to say as if your children are listening. Can you think of anything that you might need to make you feel less sad? Of course you will be feeling sad, it's natural, and not necessarily a bad thing but I can understand that it is overwhealming. It might help to talk through your feelings with someone if you can. I'm here if you need anything, please get in touch any time. Take care. xxx
