its too embarrassing,please don't laugh.
Im kinda embarrassed to post this, but i can't keep it inside any longer. I don't know if it is something mental, but im obssessed with going to the toilet. I mean im not really constipated, but im so scared that i won't be able to do my business when i try. If i haven't done my business one day, then i can't function. I mean i get angry with people, i can be aggresive and im very uncomfortable. I don't know whats wrong with me.
im so embarrassed to post this. I haven't told anyone, cuz its so embarrassing. I don't want to tell anybody in real life. Please guys, don't be mad at me for posting something like this. It was too hard for me, but i couldn't keep it inside any longer. Is it something mental? |
Hey...I don't really have any advice sorry but I wanted you to know right away that for sure you're NOT mental and I'm glad you posted.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe you've sort of latched onto this as something to focus on ( not deliberately )...almost like if you concentrate enough on this other stuff that you're going through will fade into the background...if you have problems with eating it could have something to do with that as well..I know I get obsessed over all kinds of things so your definately not alone anyway! I don't know..sorry that wasn't much help at all... Take care of yourself... * Huggles* |
i didn't mean if im mental, i meant if its a mental problem.
|
Oh sorry! :) It probably does have something to do with your emotional/mental state yes.. and I'm sure there is some sort of explanation for it..I've heard that going to the toilet can be quite a big issue with people whos moods are low...
Also.. I didn't say this before but I've had something a bit similar..in that I got obsessed for quite a while with how often I went to the toilet and I'd get really panicky if I thought I'd need to go but there wouldn't be a toilet near by...it wasn't rational and I couldn't explain it but it really took over for a while...I know it's not really the same but thoght I'd let you know anyway! Sorry can't be more help...hopefully someone else will know more.. Take care.. |
Anxiety effects the body in different ways...
It could also be symbolic - a fear of letting go, emotionally speaking - maybe you know you've got lots of feelings to let go of and express and you need to, but something, maybe anxiety, is holding you back. Lots of pent up feeling. |
i have always had this obssession, even when i wasn't depressed. now its more serious. i cancel everything i have to do, in order to go to the toilet. i don't want to live the house if i haven't done my business. if i don't have to go, i mean even when i don't have the urge to go, i try to go, even if i don't need it. it takes over my life, i can't function.
|
i'd say its an obsessive compulsive thing and is more common than you'd think. i've had loo probs since i was small and can really relate to what you're going through. and i really respect your courage in sharing.
to share something equally as embarrassing to me, i piddle myself a bit sometimes after i've gone to the loo. i've never told that to anyone before. i'm just trying to show respect to you for taking this step. its hard to share with such personal stuff there are some great things that you can do with obsessive compulsive stuff. browse for stuff or PM me if you can't find anything useful |
is it OCD?
|
i'm not sure if it's OCD, i have the same thing as Rainbow where i'm constantly worrying where the next bathroom will be, and I have to go before I do anything, like before I go into every lecture, even if I don't feel that i need to go. i think that might be more OCDish, the going when you dont actually need to part. i realise its very embarrassing to tell people in real life but maybe try telling your doctor? they might be able to suggest something to help. hopefully seeing all our replies will convince you you're not alone with stuff like this which should help telling the dr as they will have probably heard stuff like it before
|
I wouldn't be so quick to label it as "OCD", however it's clearly a behaviour that is damaging your life and making things difficult for you, the best thing you can do is tell a professional about what is going on.
As this thread has progressed you seemed to get more confident with it, is it possible you could now talk with someone about it? It's not strange, and you need help hun. Take care x Aimee. |
I dont know if i have an ED, probably bulimia without the purging.but i have had this problem for as long as i can remember.i prefer going to the bathroom in the morning so that i can be comfortable the whole day.if i dont go my day sucks.its the only thought in my mind.im afraid that i wont be able to go when i try.i sometimes even put an alarm so that i can wake up and get ready to go.i always have to be ready to go,so ready that it would be a low risk of not going.do u know what i mean?

if i have something to do after school and i haven't gone that day, like every friday that i go to my therapist, i leave school early so that i can go. Im so close to missing the school year, cuz i have been cutting classes. its ruining my life.
|
yesterday(now its morning) i ate fruit salad, half a glass of milk, two kellogs bars, orange juice (then an hour later i went to the bathroom.) and then half a glass of orange juice, half a toast and ice cream (i haven't gone to the bathroom since then) is it possible to not be able to go today? please, im very worried. i can't function if i don't go. someone help?
|
hey again. if all you have eaten is the juice, toast and ice cream, it's possible you won't go today. you won't go if you don't need to, and i would advise not trying too hard to make yourself go as this puts pressure on your internal organs. i know its a big thing for you but try not to worry so much about it. try to go about your day normally today? think to yourself, i havent gone, but its ok cos i dont actually need to, and i CAN still function and get through the day. hun, this is obviously bothering you a lot, i really wld recommend you ask your doctor about it. like i said before, i'm sure they will hav heard other people with this problem before.
|
to what kind of doctor should i tell this?
what about my psychiatrist? |
i went today, but it was not much...
|
Your psychiatrist is probably a good place to start.
I'm sorry that this seems to be causing so much trouble for you hon, it really does sound like a lot of hassle, etc. Take care. x |
