Consider The Moon
Consider the moon, high Pale faced and mystic Swaying on its trapeze Ringmaster of the night. It's secrets, It's lies Held in those wide eyes And the memories we hold Come back to haunt us as The moon slips into view As our lives unfold into the night The moon watches, with her secrets And her lies. |
Leaving
So I'm leaving again, I'm sorry We've been through this before I say that I can't just stick around, I can't keep my feet on the floor. If I'm staying here, why should I? I've waited long enough Broken hearts don't last forever But a fractured soul is tough You say that you will carry me Through the good times and the bad But you just make me remember The good times we never had. Whats the use in trying If I could just give in and go free? I splash in cold, rough waters When I could swim into a calm sea. |
If you can't do the time...
One for each crime, But crime doesn't rhyme. Hatred, guilt, lust None that you can see A poisoned apple on a dying tree. In one sharp second, Where were you? No footprints in the sand, No ripples in the sea, When I died inside, you abandoned me. And hour, an minute A split, shattered second. I hope for one more day, Tomorrow I will rest, Tomorrow is always best. |
to be honest, they're not at all rubbish
and are actually well good *wishes she could write decent poetry* corrr blimerss, i likes the last one best |
Isolated.
You might call it avoidance but, Really it's survival. Stand up to the death, draw out my short life. I turn the other cheek to protect it from the wind But it doesn't take too long for the burning to set in And I shrink a little more inside When you won't look me in the eye. You could say I want to die. Guilt. You say it eats away but, Instead it swallows me whole. I look it in the face and say 'I'm not afraid of you' I walk away from anger to protect me from the shame But it quickly follows suit and pounces from behind. And I fall to the floor once again When you turn away from the state I'm in. You could say my patience is growing quite thin But one day you'll see, One day you'll thank me. And in the end, and the end is near, You'll realise that I'm no longer here. And you'll wish you'd made an effort from the start. |
