my poem about going into care
just one of my peoms about my home life and how i went into care wrote it years ago dont really know what to say hope you like it.
It was happening again all this pain, Im crying and screaming as he throws me again, I’ve had enough id say each day. I’d wait till the start of the week, And tell myself I couldn’t be weak, I will tell someone today I’d say, Then someone would come and get me away. But I never had the guts to tell, So I told myself that it would stop, It won’t happen again I prayed, Maybe I could be happy again. But weeks turned into months, Months into years, It never got better, It only got worse. Until one day id had enough. I went mad and told dad I hated his guts. He gave me a punishment. But that was my life, Never free to do as I liked. That was the final straw, Now was the time for me to stand tall, It didn’t go well we had another fight, The police were called on that night. So there I was only a child, Sat in a cell freezing cold, I was let out after a night. After being interviewed and cautioned, How could this be right? So that is what I got for standing up to it all, And refusing to take it anymore, The day I got out a conference was called, This was my chance to tell it all. I was confused, scared and tired, I couldn’t say anything at all, I sat there feeling so small, And ended up saying nothing at all. My parents were there social workers too, I said one thing “I ****ing hate you”, That was one thing I had to say, For all those years I suffered in pain. I’d had enough of it all and walked out the door, A social worker came out, And asked me back in. I wanted to tell her all about him. I didn’t have it in me, But id had enough, There was one thing I knew for sure, I couldn’t go back to it all. I walked through another door, I was away from them all, But on the streets id been here before. I walked the streets for hours,. None of my friends could let me stay, So I gave up and walked away. I went down the road, The police were at the house, She went in and shut the door. So here I was really tired, Back at the house, Where it had happened. When I got in, I went to get changed, Then some agreements with the officer were made Then she was approaching the door, When she was gone, I knew what I was in for. So I sat there, And watched my last chance slip away, Sitting in silence, Watching and waiting, For him to shut the door. That was it I was dead, He’s going to kill me, Were the thoughts in my head I wished I wasn’t so stupid, And had just shut up. He came in the room, And gave me a glare, I wished I could just, Disappear into the chair. We were alone, He could do as he liked, No one could stop him, On this late night. There I was just as before, Shouting and screaming, As he threw me to the floor. When it was over, I grabbed the phone. 999 was the tone. He didn’t believe me, That id called the police, This was the last time, Id make him see. Blue lights flashing, The police were here, I would no longer live in fear. There I was again, Sitting in a cell. A lady came and talked to me, We got along well, The next day a social worker picked me up, We went to my house to pack my stuff, At last the day had come, I had got away!!!!!!!!!!! |
