avatar?

It will be cached somewhere. RYL, like most sites stores commonly displayed images like avatars on your machine, rather than expecting you to download them every time to load a page. This results in everything being much faster, but does mean your browser can confuse itself.

I would go to the chat page and press Ctrl +F5 which will 'non cache refresh' the page.

If that doesnt work, clear your temporary files or just wait till it updates itself according to the settings you have in your browser (which is what caches, not RYL)

Hope that helps :)

I have noticed that old avatars are showing on the staff listings. Many mods have changed their avatars and yet on the listings they remain as their old ones. This could confuse people who may be using avatars to track down a certain mod or something perhaps?

They all look fine to me, perhaps this is just your computer / ISP caching that page from a while ago?

Sophie, try the ctrl F5 thing and see if they update. The forum is getting those images from the same place, so that isnt really possible from this end, once someone changes their avatar the old one we rve gets deleted, so we can only ever have one!

Wow that worked... so simple and yet now the confusion is over. Thanks. I guess my computer got stuck in a time warp.

RYL actually has mechanisms to make sure these things don't get out of date, but sometimes browsers and the ISP's themselves try to do the right thing so well they muck them up :)

Glad its sorted anyway!
