Advice and a bit of support needed.... feeling meep

ok, i have self harmed for about a year but havent done much in the last 2/3 years..... nothing too bad.

every year my dad takes me on holiday and i am totally gratfeul, please dont read this and think im totally stuck up and un grateful!

last time when we went on holiday we were sitting waiting for the coach to pick us up and my dads girl friend asked me what marks were all up my arm. i totally freaked i was soooo not prepared for that!! i just said i fell over a barbed wire fence and ran off! literally!! i useually hide them well by holdinga towel over my arm or folding them.

any hows, im going away again in 3 weeks, this time we are gone for 2 weeks and i know they wll be more aware of it, they will be looking at me all over and will see all the ones up my legs and arms.
we are staying on a really small island so i wont even have anywhere to run!

i think im gonna have to tell them....... but i dunno what to say, how or why or anything!! im in such a panic about it all!! im not ready! and i dont wanna spend 2 weeks of them judging me!

please just tell me anything that will make me feel better.......

If people judge you, that's their problem. I'm about to take the big step of not caring what anyone thinks. My family knows, they don't really say much about it. Maybe that's what will happen for you? You could always just be up front and say you "used to cut yourself" if they ask, and perhaps they will just accept that and not question anymore. I dunno, it's personal preference I think. Sorry I'm NOT good at advice!

I really don't know what I'd say in your position. If you're not ready to talk about it you could just tell em you'll explain everything when you're readybut not to worry too much for now?
Sorry, thats the best I have. Good luck xx

I educated a friend about SI by finding and printing out an article for him, then highlighting and adding comments to the stuff that was part of my experience. It seemed to help and it seemed like he appreciated it.

Maybe if i keep hiding it then they will know i dont wanna talk about it. I think if they do ask i will jsu tell them out right i dont wanna talk about it. I just hate the thought of being on a sodding desert island with them!! arrrghhhh! lol
