Eesh *trigger?*
Well until tonight I've been doing pretty well, hadn't cut for about 2 months.
But today I don't know, just a combination of factors like exam stress and such got a bit much and I broke my good streak. On the bright side it was very minor and nothing compared to how I used to be, so I guess that's a start. I'm going dress shopping tomorrow with a couple of friends for junior prom, though, so that might be a bit awkward. x |
Hi Hannah,
2 months without cutting is brilliant and try to look at this as a slip up. It is disheartening but you can start again, this slip up doesn't mean you have to stop trying. Exam time is always really stressful & you must have other things going on as well which makes it especially difficult. I am glad it was less than what you used to do, that is really positive. Do your friends know about your self harming? If not, is there any chance of covering them with something such as a tubi-grip or jewellery. I would say wear long sleeves but of course a lot of the dresses are probably strappy or have no sleeves at all. Tubi-grip can be good though, say that you sprained it or something. I'm sorry I haven't given much advise, ((Hannah)) - you are doing fab & you can pick yourself up from this, xxx |
Yeah just about everyone close to me knows about it but they all think i'm better now and they'll be disappointed if they see.
It's like at the top of my arm as well, because I've just got confident enough about my scars to wear short sleeved cardigans (and it'll be relatively obvious if i go back to long sleeves again), so the jewellery/tubi-grip ideas wouldn't really work. Thank you so much for your support & advice (: I like having people who I can talk to about this sort of thing. xxxx |
Good luck finding a dress, maybe you can find one with nice sleeves or something =]
And as for slipping up, I've don't that recently and haven't been able to tell anyone or talk about it but yeah, it's nice to have people to talk to about it, Best of luck xxx |
Top of the arm is slightly more complicated in this situation. If your friends do notice then I'm sure they wouldn't be disappointed, I know that's how I feel though - that I've disappointed people. If you view it as a slip up as well, tell them that's what it is & that you are trying to quit still. I think they'll be proud of what you've achieved more than anything else. It is hard though.

Thanks (:
Yeah if they notice I'll say that, they're both really understanding and great about it. xxxx |
