Er *sexual/adult*

Not sure if I should put this in here, and fear people who actually know me may read this but here goes.
Since I've been with my boyfriend I've stopped self harming in fear of him leaving me.
The thing is, I umm, like him to hurt me when I sleep with him. (I apologise for being blunt) like scratching and general aggression.
But I was just thinking about it, would this be considered as self harm?
Maybe I've chosen this to replace my cutting?
I'm confused...
I don't think it's too unhealthy but my friend said it was weird.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I would say yes because you arent really feeling the pain from it, you are feeling the pressure. Adn just because someone else is doin to you doesnt really mean it isnt self harm. It could very well be a replacement for the cutting.

On the other hand, good job for not cutting!

I wouldn't call it self harm no.
and i don't find it weird either. A lot of people enjoy feeling pain during sex.
As long as you enjoy it and aren't like making him do it because of the same reasons as to why you self harmed then i dont see it as a problem.

I don't think it's weird, it's the same principal of girls who scratch their boyfriends chests to shreds

I'm the same...I like a bit of the slapping/spanking/biting type thing. Thing about this is that people who have never self harmed in their life have also enjoyed this kind of play. It's a sort of pleasure/pain thing and it can be a real turn on to anybody because the sensations heighten excitement and adreneline. It's not about hurting yourself more about an interplay between different sensations.
