Not sure if this is the right place to post or not?
I am new here and not sure if this is the right place to post - but just need to explain how I am feeling.
I normally go out to work 5 days a week and this helps me to cope - I throw myself 150% into my work. So yesterday we finished for Christmas:sad: , but I managed to work it so that I had to go in for an extra three hours or so today:-) . Then I came home and went to Dog Agility training. But since then (about lunchtime) I feel stressed, I have a very short attention span and cant sit still for more than a few minutes, I am short tempered with those around me (including the doggie). My dog is more than just a pet she had helped me (acted an enabler) to leave the house at least once a day (other than work)- even if it is just to walk around the village for 45 minutes or so. I feel short tempered, frustrated and all of these feelings are making me feel worse. I am so cross with myself and trying to control the urge to cut or burn. I cant see how I can cope if the next ten days are going to be like this, and I dont know what to do to fix it. My friends and husband just dont understand and I guess I dont know how to either. :questionmark: Any way sorry to waffle on - hopefully some you know what I mean and can help. Thanks |
hmm... really not sure what to advice, but I sort of know how you feel...
sounds to me like you need an activity or purpose to throw yourself into, just basically to keep busy... though I may be wrong... perhaps once christmas gets going you won't feel as bad as there will be things getting on? really not sure what to advice, but I think that I can understand (to an extent) with you, hopefully someone else will have some better advice |
I don't know if this would help, or indeed how you would feel about it, but why not volunteer to help a charity over the festive period. Lots of charities need extra assistance and it would give you a chance to focus your energy on doing something good and also something that can be really fun! Try contacting your local council or checking in your local paper to see what's going on.
Do take care and stay safe xx |
The idea of volunteering for a charity is good - but not the one for me - mainly because I find it difficult to leave the house, yes I can walk the dog - but that doesnt involve meeting anyone. I also wonder how I would explain it to my husband - I cant go to the pub with him and our friends but I can do xyz - it just doesnt sit right.
Today seemed a little better - I have spent most of the day playing an RPG game on the PC and that seems to help, also I have done the ironing and the cleaning - which I find is an excellent distraction. I have lots of hobbies and interests but I just dont seem to be able to get into them - sitting still is a problem - even when I am reading my sub conscious seems to be talking to me. |
