Whats your thought on my thought?

As much as I hate my depression...I'm glad I have it...I'm glad I can see the world through depressed eyes...Hmm what are your opinions?

Pink Lemonade Fairy 19-12-2007 10:18 PM

I'd prefer not to have it...But I'm glad I know what it is and I've seen/can see the world like this. Okay I make no sense

Fightstarter_Karaoke 19-12-2007 11:23 PM

Sometimes it's nice to actually experience extremes in my head.
But...no. On the whole, I'd rather not have it, thanks.

It's different. It's an experience. It helps you appreciate things so much more. It's awful to go through but it;s amazing at the same time.

i see where you're coming from. i like the fact it makes me appreciate how low people can actually get, because i've been there myself.

mostly though, i wish i could be an optimistic happy person in my head and not just in how i act a lot of the time.

i understand what you mean, i think.
it makes everything seem.. richer.
to some extent.

Sounds like a Matrix thought. I'd rather be in 'the real world' with it's cold gray walls and snot-soup than be somewhat happy in the utterly fake face of society. I'm glad I'm not blind, depression is just a side effect of knowledge. Ignorance is bliss. I'd rather continue to learn.

Sharloid. 20-12-2007 09:42 AM

I wouldn't know.
I've never labelled myself as depressed.

Accidentally Abstract 20-12-2007 10:42 AM

Right.

When I saw this post, I immediately thought "I know what you're talking about", but I'm not certain that I do, so tell me if I'm wrong.

It's not that you're glad you have depression, as such, it's that you're glad that the depression has caused you to be able to see the world as you see it - for most, negatively, & what we perceive to be honestly.
For me, at least, it feels like a good thing that I can see the world as it really is, even though I know that while I do see it that way, I'm unlikely to 'recover' or be 'happy'.

Do you see any similarity in that, Chloe?

I only just saw this, but yeah, that's pretty much how I feel, personally.

Should this be in debates..?
