I drop in here occasionally, happy to message back and forth. I could also do with some poor soul to listen to me ranting! Haha

don't think it's necessarily a good idea to be asking strangers on the internet to talk on the phone and share your number. there is discord if you are wanting to try that route, as there is a voice chat option on there. that might be a bit of a safer option to try if you are looking for voice chatting.

Thank you for the recommendation for discord because I also wouldn't even exchange email address because many years back the people I was taking to we using my IP address and MAC address to to track my device and even admitted when I questioned them. Only 1 time did I speak to someone on the phone and never again.

I can second the Discord idea, I use it pretty regularly. it's much safer than phone numbers, email addresses, or even most other social media platforms. you can't get much info off of someone's discord profile (unless it's in their bio) because of the way the app is laid out. much much safer

Scammers can use your phone number to hack into Facebook and various accounts. Although scammers here are rare they do exist in every corner of the Internet and I would be very wary of giving out personal information especially to people you only just met online. Other people here have given great advice.
