UPDATE POST 19 CONTRlBUTIONS NEEDED BUT STILL DON'T CHANGE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE SEE POST 16.

Please can we all check that our email addresses associated with our RYL accounts are current email addresses that we have access to!

You can do this by utilising the second option on the control panel.

Reasons why I am posting this:

1) if you lock yourself out of your account, I think you need to be able to access the linked email account for a reset
2) if you decide you want to delete your account or contact the moderator email inbox for other reasons you may be asked to email from the associated email account as proof that it's you
3) until today I didn't know the email address could be changed and it was exciting for me to update it to an email address I actually had access to!
4) everyone loves a bit of light admin right?
5) power trip, obvs.

Meh, arguably you've done it as from my research your associated email address is your current email address!

we already knew ours was correct because we got PMs from you yesterday lol

but we did double check it to confirm

Done. RYL is privileged even Facebook still has my old email and no backup contact details!

Camden - I got a PM email today after changing my email details and was like wtf??? I'm sure even when I had access to my old account I didn't get PM emails!

Maybe it re ticked a box for you????

I know my email address is still the same because I get birthday emails.

UPDATE: PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS.

When you update your email address it sends you a confirmation email to activate the account from the new address and RYL emails are broken so then you get locked out. This has just happened to a much loved member and I am currently unsure if I can fix it.

So yeah, don't change your email address. Maybe write down your password somewhere though if you can't access the related email account!

oh is this why we don't get pm emails anymore? crap :(

The member in question has discovered that whilst their account is restricted, they can still submit post reports and have used this ability to post report the last update and challenge the claim that they are a 'much loved member'.

The member in question is Kleiner Angsthase

If greater than or equal to three people report this post to confirm that they love this member within the next three (3) days, the original post will stand. Otherwise I will oblige and publish an addendum to state that the user affected is simply 'a member'.

PLEASE DO THE POST REPORT I PROMISE THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT HUMAN WHO YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY LOVE EVEN THOUGH THEY DO OBNOXIOUS POST REPORTS.

Pleased to report that the criteria for continued "much-loved member" status was met within 24 hours of the above post. Many thanks to all who took time out of their day to make this happen.
