Ex Begging to Keep Living Together
My ex and I are currently still living together until the lease ends in September. I have been paying for everything while he has been unemployed for over 3 years. I broke up with him in the beginning of November and gave him the clear timeframe that I'll be moving out on my own when the lease ends. He now has been panicking and begging me to stay living with him for another lease year, saying that if we don't live together he'll be homeless. He started a small business to create D&D content and stuff but has made no money with it yet, he has been talking about applying for disability for years but never did it. I'm completely over this situation and I'm really looking forward to loving alone, but I care about him so much and don't want him to literally be homeless. If he gets a job and actually works he'll be able to support himself (he has joint custody of his son too) but it's like not an option in his mind. He has some form of agoraphobia and makes excuses for not being able to work from home. Every time I stand firm and say I'm moving out on my own he gets angry and yells at me, insults me, is mean, and blames me for him not taking care of himself and for him not applying for disability (because I didn't fill out the application for him). It's insane. Then he'll apologize and act pathetic and manipulate me that way. I can't stand it and all the guilt -tripping, but it's working? I'm constantly reconsidering what I should do. It feels like it would almost be easier to just give in than to keep having the same argument over and over. Hellllpppp!
