why are there no room descriptions for chat?
 

Hey

i have noticed lately that a lot of members which is mainly new people that have never used chat so wouldnt know what the descriptions were before chat was changed.

Often i correct people about the convo but how can i say this to people when there isnt actually a rule about the chat rooms and what can be said in them on RYL?

i dont know if anyone has noticed this or if anything planned....

so will this be updated anytime soon?

We are awaiting new chat, which will hopefully have room descriptions. The lack of descriptions has been a thorn in my side as well.

Unfortunately Harley hasn't been able to be around much, hence the delay with new chat, but it is in the woodwork.

I really hope this new chat comes soon or atleast rules for the rooms because chat is a slight disaster at the moment with lag and wrong convos in general

I realise the frustration and will be around more to help out now I am no longer on holiday. I did need a bit of a break but am back in full form. I apologise for my absence, but rest assured will be doing as much as I can.

We're closer to getting new chat.

I dont use chat so I dont want to stick my nose in or anything.
But if you are having problems, how about making a thread or post in here explaining the rooms and rules. Then if someone in chat is confussed you can send them a linkto the thread/post.

Hi. You really do need to sort out a list of rules or get the room descriptions up asap as the problem with triggering stuff in chat is getting worse. Many people aren't even bothering to tell people not to talk about such things in general chat and ive notice that people who have been members a long time have started doing it as well.
There's been a lot of tip shared going on in serious chat ive noticed recently as well.
I understand that theres a wait for the new chat but it's really upsetting to get triggered all the time. Was a link to show people ever created in the end, coz I've had a look and I can't see one?

If you see people tip sharing, or speaking about things that you think are inappropriate save a chat log of it, and PM it to Prophetic Star, she's the head chat mod and she will make sure that people are disciplined appropriately if they are doing things against the rules.

Even if there aren't chat rules up, people should still be following the RYL forum rules for tip sharing and such, so like i said, save chat logs and send them to Prophetic Star.

Oh yeah, the chat mods are very interested when people start doing stuff like that, as chat needs to be a safe place for everyone.

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do until Harley gets back from being ill. As soon as he is back, I will be hounding him constantly for new chat.
