Quetiapine XL
Hello,
I have been prescribed Quetiapine XL for "psychosis" as the clinical team puts it. They say I'm very paranoid and delusional... Not sure that I agree to that. My question is I know medication on average takes 4-6 weeks to start to have an affect. With Quetiapine is there noticeable improvements prior to then? Thank you. Have a nice weekend. |
Usually antipsychotics start working in a few days to a week though the full benefits may not be reached for a few weeks. You should start noticing changes pretty quickly.

With the normal release version I usually notice improvements about a week after a med increase, sorry been a while since I started it so can't remember how long it took initially.

Sedative effects kick in quickly but antipsychotic effects take 2-6 weeks, depending on your pharmcodynamics.
