Happy box ideas
 

So I'm making up a happy box for my sister's birthday and I know some of you keep one. I'd appreciate any ideas as to what I can put in it.

She loves knitting, reading, stationary and lots of other things.

I have a thread in the picture board; perhaps you could take a look and see if that gives you inspiration?

I would include a greetings card from yourself with a positive message. Other things would be to include a photograph of the both of yourself or your sister with your mother if it's not too painful.

Does she have a favourite type of genre or author to read? I asked for recommendations on another forum I am part of and I got some answers on titles of books. So you could include either a title by her favourite author or an example of her favourite genre. Maybe if she has a favourite book you could run to a first edition/early edition or signed copy if it's reasonably priced.

Does she have a favourite celebrity? Maybe you could write to them and request a signed photo to add to it? It's unlikely to arrive in time but it's something to look forward to.

A notebook to write her feelings down and a fancy pen would be great. Or mini gel pens.

Is she arty? An colouring book/colour by numbers or art kit would be great.

Hopefully I have given you plenty of ideas. If I think of anything more then I will come back.

I like the idea of putting photos in, especially including ones of my mum.

She does like colouring. I think I'll design postcards for her to colour in. I've made her a colouring book before.

Oh my days, you sound like the best sister ever!! (Probs don't tell my sister that :P) Designing postcards for her to colour in is awesome :)

As a fellow stationery-lover, card warehouse and the works often have pretty sticky notes, and from experience one can never have too many of those.

This is more a suggestion for her once she's got it, but I love having cards/letters from friends/family to look at in my happy box.

One time one of my friends wrote nice little messages on teeny bits of paper and rolled them up and put them in a tic tac box, which was really sweet (I guess the container doesn't have to be a tic tac box; I just collect them!). You could do it with nice message, happy memories, favourite quotes etc.

You could also put some sweets in there.

It's a lovely idea, and I'm sure she'll really enjoy the box and all of the things you put in it :)

I thought that if you were going for a notebook that a blank page would be better. That way if she wants to doodle or be creative then she won't be hampered by lines spoiling her work.

You could take a look online for a cute knitting pattern that she might like to have a go at?

What about other crafts? You can get little craft kits like cross stitch kits that she might like to try?

I personally really enjoy puzzle books too!

I really appreciate all the ideas guys. I'm going shopping for it soon but I have until the end of the month.

I finally dug out my own happy box, which I haven't done in ages because my mum gave me it, so it was too painful.
It has a cat soft toy, origami paper and a stretchy man thing, like a stress toy. The sweets are long gone. I think I'll add to my own happy box too.

I am glad that you managed to get out your own happy box. I threw some stuff out of mine such as photos of me and my ex. I think that it can be ever changing so adding stuff is good.

Stationary is always good! Maybe get a notepad where you can decorate the front cover so it's personalised by you for her
Also, stickers. Stickers are awesome. Sparkley ones are pretty and you can get stickers of anything.
Not sure if she's into it but one of those fidget spinners. Though I have a fidget cube, it's perfect to fit in your pocket to fiddle with when you're out and panicking, helps to keep your mind busy at home too. I'd say the cube is better personally.
And I agree with the photos, that would be really nice. Maybe make a small photo book for her.

I went shopping today and got some stuff for my sister's happy box. I got:

An embroidery kit.
A sew your own fox kit.
I designed postcards to colour.
Colour pencils.
Pen with pompon on top.
A bear.
Sweets.

I just need to get her a mini bottle of prosseco for it, photos and perhaps other things.

My friend got me some once and it was nice!

That's a good idea Beckie, but she doesn't like it. Although I could get her fancy tea.

I also got her a necklace, but that's not for the happy box.
