Anxiety Attack/Panic Attacks?
Are they the same thing just named differently. I have had anxiety for a long time now but recently it come to the point were I had to go to hospital and was told I had a panic attack. I was given quite strong medication to elevate these symptoms and was told to go back to my GP to discuss other mediation I could go on.
Also if its okay to ask if I do have a panic attack/anxiety attack whats the best thing to calm down? I honestly just get in to such a state I cannot even seem to do the breathing in and out thing. If anyone responds thank you :) Stacey xx |
Hey Stacey,
I'm sorry your anxiety got to to a state where you were having an attack. I think that anxiety and panic attacks are the same thing but not 100% sure but fairly confident. I think the only thing that differentiates them both I could be wrong but panic attack is more of a diagnostic term and refers an extreme panic where you get almost all the physics symptoms whereas the anxiety attack slightly calmer where you've had a reaction to it but not as strong as an panic attack and you're not getting much of the physical symptoms. However it's not really about diagnosis but how you're feeling about. I think training yourself when you're feeling like it's coming on to try some mindfulness so try to concentrate on your breathing and then bring your mind back to your breath when it wonders off. I find also have apps on your phone there's loads out there for anxiety. If you can't find one I can look at which ones I like on my phone later. Hope this helps. X |
