Cawley Centre and Experiences with Assessment

Hi guys I'm sorry to post again but I wondered if any of you have experiences of this service and how they assess? I am really upset that my consultant feels that this is appropriate as many of my issues relate directly to an eating disorder and my trauma history. Any information or experiences at all would be great ? Many thanks Jessie

Hey, sorry that you didn't get any responses to this. Could you ask your consultant if they have any leaflets or websites that have accounts of patients' experiences?

Also, I think it'd be worth mentioning to the consultant that you're unsure why it's appropriate so that you can feel clearer on why it is being suggested.

Thanks Jenna the service is so boundaried there is little information out there. It seems they are suggesting it because the trauma service would not offer intensive enough support even though I find it hard to see that I meet the Cawley's criteria. I will ask on Thursday xx

Did you manage to ask for more information? The support being higher-intensity sounds like a good start, as it does seem that trauma work leads you to feeling pretty unsafe so it might be helpful for there to be more intense support in place whilst you work through things.
