Struggling tonight

I'm having a hard time fighting the demons tonight. All I want to do it SI. My urges haven't been this bad in a long time. I'm hopinf its just my medication change and it'll pass.

Med changes can be a total nightmare and can heighten the bad feelings for a while. I've had a few rocky transitions in the past.

What's good is you are aware of the possibility. Acknowledging it can help a lot. It can take that feeling of helplessness away.

I hope you got through the night.

Take care x

I agree with Margo in that acknowledgement is good, and seeking support on here or with other support sources (Samaritans aren't just there for suicidal support but when you feel like self-injuring too).
A doctor recently told me to 'distract' myself from negative thoughts when I have them. I thought this was a stupid thing to say but sometimes doing anything/everything you can to avoid sitting in one spot and being tempted to do something harmful does work. I have a list written as a back up for when I feel low. On it it's got things like go running, watch comedy on YouTube/Netflix, have a bath, phone a close friend. You might have some better suggestions of your own.
Sorry for rambling on - I have total faith in you that you can get through tonight safely, well done for looking after you. X

Thank you all so much for your responses. Unfortunately I didn't make it but I'm currently a day in and doing okay. It's amazing how much distraction can help. I'm finding painting to be quite helpful.

Hope everyone is staying safe tonight. Xx

Sorry you didn't make it through the urges but glad you seem to be doing better. I tend to colour to distract myself especially at 3:30 in the morning

We all slip. It's part of the process. Accepting that too can help.

Recovery, to me, isn't about being well all the time but, more so, it's about how quickly We recover when relapses occur.
