Went to Hospital last night for Assessment
 

I went for assessment, and they've asked the Crisis team to phone me, but I've still not received a call, how long does it usually take?

They've also made me a new referral to the CMHT - Considering my GP refused, I think their unhappy that he refused :)

I don't know. Crisis team have never called me when someone's asked them to. You might have to call them yourself.

Usually within 24-48 hours you should have a visit. Depends on your area and service but here I usually hear the next day and see them the following day. It takes a while for them to hand over and decide what level of support you need and then if you need to see a psych or have med review etc.

The social worker at the hospital took my phone number,for them to call me, they don't give out the number of the crisis team here :(

They will call you. It's just a matter of time. If you didn't hear today you probably will tomorrow. Hugs. Xx

I hope it wasn't the crisis team trying to call me at 7:35 tonight on an unkown number, I was in my stress management group so had my phone on silent, I've just been really stressed with everything for several months and last night I had a melt down, became psychotic so was taken to psych ward for assessment, they agreed I'm trying but just not being heard, so they made a referral to the crisis team to ring me, and the CMHT for a new psych referral, and for me to work with the crisis team to be heard :)

I wanted to stab my dad last night, or I've been having psychotic thoughts that I can't shift like wanting to take my dads car and drive it into a wall, so I called the police to ask for help as I was feeling aggressive.

That sounds to me like it could have been them.

Its highly likely they will phone you on an unknown number.

There is no facility for anyone to leave a message, I disabled voicemail, as they cost me money to receive on payg, no number to ring back, I'm thinking of ringing social services in the morning to see if I can try and trace the person who tried to call, I don't want them thinking I ignored their call deliberately, I don't think they should have called in the night, if it was them, calls from unknown at night scare me, I've had nasty calls at night in the past from unknown numbers, I wish they'd make unknown numbers illegal :crying:

If it was them who tried to phone, they will know I don't have voicemail, as it will just continually ring if they don't get an answer, until they hang up, or I answer, I do not have a number for the crisis team, maybe they'll have a number for them at the drug and alcohol project, I'm going there today, so hoping maybe they can help me make this call :)

Yeah other services will likely have their number. If not you could probably google it for example my crisis team number can be found online.

The crisis team often do visits etc at night.

The council website the only place it could be found, I got to a page that said this page has expired, after contacting them I have 2 different numbers from then, neither of them are the correct number, the crisis team have been in contact, it wasn't them who tried to call last night, so don't know who did, crisis team just called to confirm what I already agreed with the social worker at the hospital, so a bit of a waste of time, it was also too late, expecting a knock on the door from police, as I lost it out in town trying to get the number for the crisis team, and peed in a bottle (it's my wrong time of the month) I threw the contents over a window, probably not the best idea, but after being called names by the landlady of the pub I thought I'd give her some of what I hate the most.

well no police came, so perhaps I'll just get banned from the pub, a touch embarrassing and probably a good idea to stay out of town for a few days, not really sure what to do next, I feel constant nausea and my heart won't stop racing, I have heart burn that is driving me mad, I can't stop shaking, I've been like this since Monday night, shivering and feel cold, think maybe I should get my blood pressure checked.

If you're not hearing from them could you go back to a&we when it's quiet like midday is usually quiet and say you've not heard but could do with the support from psych liaison?

They have been in contact and were not helpful, so I am considering contacting the social work team at the hospital to tell them their not useful, and ask if there is anyone else who can help practically, as I have given up on my support worker who is off work more than in work, I don't think it's an unreasonable request to ask for someone to attend the GP with me, to get my voice heard properly, instead of being ignored, that is what the hospital social worker suggested I ask the crisis team about, but all they can do is talk on the phone, so they may as well rename the crisis team to, in office advice line, getting really frustrated, looking for practical help, and it's just not out there, and after yesterdays bad day I don't even want to leave the house anymore.

I'm going to Mind today, maybe they can do something, although they are very short staffed, I'm going by taxi, I'm not catching a bus, I know it's only 2 miles, but just the thought of catching a bus is enough to make me want to vomit.

I don't see any point in going back to the hospital, as they will just say the same thing over again, use the crisis team, I think I'll just end up forgetting the idea of seeing the GP, and just wait a month stuck in the house until I see the psych.

Crisis team do usually do home visits, maybe they assessed your case wrong.
I think looking to charity organisations, local and national like you mentioned Mind is a good idea.

There are likely local charities and or organisation too who can help with advocacy.

Thanks, well I spoke with Mind, and they weren't shocked by the lack of enthusiasm and support from the crisis team, but aren't really in a position to provide the practical support I'm looking for. We also had a hate crime talk with the local Police Community Support Officers, who I also had a chat to about the 136 situation, and they said I'm welcome to chat with them any time, they've also suggested that if I go to see the GP alone but don't feel I'm getting what I need from him, to go back and let them know, and they'll have a word with my GP to try to minimise the likelihood of any further 136/mental health arrests :)

That's good the police offered to do that. I know Thatvthey do do that sometimes bc my teams have been contacted by the police when I've been 136'd more than once in a short period of time.

Thanks, well I went to see my counsellor/support worker yesterday, I'm now back seeing him every fortnight, as the drug and alcohol service got a call from the crisis team. He's also said if I want him to attend any of the appointments with me, he will do so, that includes my psych appointments. I think the call from the crisis team gave them a shake up, and it also helped that I explained about the 136 and I think he wants to ensure my safety. A bad thing is that I self medicated last night and probably shouldn't have, in a bid to make my self feel good, I took poppers, and probably a bit too much, as I'm feeling my heart racing, and feeling very shaky, it felt great at the time, but it's taking too long to wear off, not sure if there is anything I can do to counteract the effects.
