Finding a private therapist who specialises in dissociation?

Anyone got any idea on where to start with this? I'm clueless.

I've just been told it looks like I have elements of DID (by a worker who has seen me a couple of times and is really great with this stuff). So hmm. But anyway. I need someone who knows what they are doing.

Thanks for any suggestions x

Just a thought; could you find out which type of therapy is best for symptoms of DID and then search for someone who specialises in that type of therapy? Might be easier than looking for a DID specialist.

I've heard good things about the Pottergate centre: http://www.dissociation.co.uk/
I think it's super-pricey and probably not near where you are, but they have a page with advice for finding a therapist and they may be able to give you some advise on finding a therapist in your area via email if you ask?

Could you ask the worker who suggested that you have elements of DID what dissociation-specific support is available within your local NHS mental health care?
