Criminal damage on acute ward

i kicked a door down to make my escape, one with a electrical fob opening so damaged the internal mechanism as well as the door frame, one a normal mental health ward would they normally ring the police and get me arrested for criminal damage or would they leave it?

when i've been in hospital before, if someone on a section kicked off and their behaviour wasn't containable they would get injected, but if someone informal kicked off and appeared aggressive/damaged property they called the police which sometimes resulted in the person being arrested. i know it's not answering your question completely, but just something i noticed on the wards.

A few years ago when I was in hospital I broke a lot of windows. It often resulted me in being restrained and injected. Eventually I was told if I broke anymore windows I would be charged with the £600 cost it takes the repair the window.

I think it depends on the ward and the staff.

I asked this and was told it would often depend on the mental state of the person and if charges could be pressed.

Could you ask the staff?

As everyone has said it depends on the hospital's policy and how they deemed your mental state to be at the time.

Can you ask them what will happen?

I punched a patient several times and then smashed up a payphone on a secure unit. I had to pay to replace the phone and I was put on one to one nursing, and not allowed to be near other patients alone for a while. But I didn't get arrested.
