I've lost my sheep
I have had a cuddly toy sheep for years & years. Whenever I've been low ive cuddled him& talked to him. I take him away with me on holiday etc & ive lost him 2 nights ago whilst in Scotland
I'm heart broken. I've rang the hotel & they said thT he's not been handed in!!! I feel so bad I feel like someone's died. I'm not sure how to get through this feeling... I feel like if I can't get him back I want to die |
I'm sorry for your loss. Perhaps you have something's else you could use, maybe even a pillow? Did you enjoy your trip to Scotland, it's a lovely country :)
|
It was ok at the time but now I hate wish I'd never gone. Don't want to go anywhere ever again
|
What did the sheep represent for you? Is there anyone or anything that gives you a similar thing or sense of comfort?
It sounds like you feel very lost without having this source of comfort. What else gives you comfort? |
Is their another cuddly toy sheep you can buy? I know it won't be the same I'd be upset if I lost my cuddly toy that i've had since i was 14 but at least it'll be something?
|
He's irreplacable
I think its a sign. I was only clinging onto life. Now I don't see the point |
Why is he irreplaceable? How did he make you feel?
|
He was the only thing that made me better. Like a best friend.
I know it sounds stupid sorry but he means the world to me |
It's not a sign, it was an accident that you lost your sheep. It doesn't mean anything sinister, honest.
I know it feels horrible now but you will feel better about it over time. Can you find another cuddly toy that you can hold etc to give you some comfort? |
It isn't a sign at all. He might feel irreplaceable right now but I agree that perhaps finding something else to comfort you would be helpful. Maybe don't think of it as a replacement but a step? New toy, new journey.
I am sure your sheep will be on a new journey with a child. Carrying it and loving it. The comfort doesn't even need to be a toy..maybe a bit of fabric? Or something if that makes it easier? |
I think the others have some good ideas. It doesn't have to be about replacing him, it can be about you sharing a different and more positive journey with something else that is comforting. Do you have a favourite animal that's maybe slightly unusual? You can get virtually animal as a stuffed toy online, maybe that's something to get excited about.
You could also maybe ask a friend or family member to buy you something, so that it comes with sentimental attachments. |
Could you post on social media about the sheep, see if anyone has seen it?
Like a reverse of what others do and ask people to share to help items find their owner. Also, is it possible you've lost it on the way back from Scotland? If so can you contact transport companies/ service stations to see if anyone found it and handed it in? |
I don't know if this would make things better or worse for you (better in that it lets the memory of your sheep live on, worse in that you keep thinking about him) but have you thought about having a mental image of your sheep comfort you, like a compassionate figure? When I am sad one thing I like to do is have a mental image of a friend come alongside me and hug me and hold my hand. Your sheep could (mentally) do the same for you.
|
I'm scared I need to go for a mental health assessment with my psych & another one?
|
