0800 numbers are going to be free from mobiles in the UK
 

From 1st July, all 0800 numbers are going to be free in the UK. Some helplines (such as CALL helpline in Wales) use 0800 and some people have been reluctant to contact them because of cost.

0845 numbers (such as the Samaritans) remain charged for, though their cost is liable to change - this is dependent on your network.

You can call the samaritans for free anyway if you have minutes or free landline calls

do you still need to have the 0845 number at the start?

Not everyone has though. I dont have it on my mobile.

Clarabelle you go onto a website called saynoto0870.com search samaritans and you get a load of landline numbers to call :) just something to search when in a sound mind :)

Also a free number to call from mobiles is 116123 that's free from mobiles so there are ways to call the samaritans for free

Or just ask them to call you back.
