trigger labels/ RYL- family...
 

Although I am here since a few months, there are still some things I do not understand concerning this board.

1.) Sometimes there are black trigger labels next to the thread title and I do not understand how I make them.
I have read something about a drop menu but I cannot find it.
So, I just write trigger in the title but I am afraid that it is not enough.

2.) I like the thing about the RYL- family that some members have in their signatures.
How do you become someone's family member?
Should I ask some people or do I have to wait till others ask me?
Was it part of a game? (Because the things that are written are so creative.)

I searched for answers but I did not find them, so I hope that someone can answer me my questions.

1)when you make a new post, if you see where you put the title- to the left is a drop down menu that has *trigger (insert trig here)* hope that helps
2)ryl fam- just ask someone if they wanna be in your fam, i know most of my fam is basically people i talk to on a regular basis, but i think i have a couple people in it that i dont

I still cannot see this drop menu.
Could it be that Firefox does not show it?

I use Firefox and I can see the drop down menu for the label, it's just to the left of the text box for the title.

The drop down menu is where it says 'Label'. :)

Just a little more info on the RYL family business - I hope you've got the trigger labels, and suchlike, sorted.

The whole RYL family thing, as far as I am aware, started ages ago, and was once a more popular thing to see in people's sigs than it seems to be these days.
Generally, if you want someone to be in part of your family, you'll write them a PM - and you'll receive a PM if someone wants you to be in their family.
Often people in someones family is someone they know, and have been speaking too beforehand, but I know that I used to get people in my family whom I had never spoken to before - and it was a good way to make new friends, meet new people, etc.
As you're probably aware, not everyone has a RYL family, and they're not necessary, or anything! :) x

Well, now I know how it works...and I feel sooo embarrassed because I must have been blind :blush:.
I must have overlooked it all the time.

Thanks for the explanations about the RYL- family, too. It sounds so nice and perhaps I will be brave enough to ask people for becoming a family member.
