Everything is pointless

Hi :)

Everything I do seems pointless. I feel like I'm not helping anyone in life, and that therefore my life is purposeless. I feel so very insignificant. I cannot enjoy anything - even the things I used to absolutely adore, like Christmas! I have a supportive family, I have friends, I have the most wonderful boyfriend who has to deal with me crying and telling him that no, I still didn't enjoy life today.

I see a therapist but don't feel like anything has changed. I've had an eating disorder for the past three years but I almost feel like it's gone way beyond that - food and body image aren't the biggest issues right now.

I have extremely low self-esteem. I am told I'm intelligent but I overthink everything to the extent where I always miss the vital, basic points and think I'm stupid.

Any words of advice? Anyone else want to rant?

Thank you xxx

*hugs* I'm sorry your feeling so low. If it means anything your post in my thread made me smile- that helped. Perhaps help isn't always big things I think- I bet there are other little things you do that help others without you realising.

I understand about overthinking and it's hard when you get to the point where you lose touch with things- have you ever tried journalling?
I've found it really good when I've been struggling in the same spot. Always around if you want to talk- you're welcome to PM me.
Hope you can do something kind for yourself today- you deserve it <3

Thank you so much for your reply, you're just lovely. I think I'm a bit skeptical about journalling but I really should try it! xxx

Give it a try- I can understand your scepticism, but the way I see it is it helps me organise my thoughts so they're not bouncing around in my head. I hope it does help <3
