Do you carry blades with you?

I was just wondering if anyone else takes their blades (tools) with them when they go out.
If you do, have youever been caught with them?

Voldemort 02-11-2007 12:03 AM

I have, but only a couple of times. Didn't get caught. I find doing it anywhere other than in my room doesn't feel right.

Also, Luke, you may wanna edit that and take out where it can be put. Tip sharing and all y'know.

Samz 02-11-2007 12:04 AM

I do. I also carry a strip of bandage and some anti septic cream.
I've worryed about being caught with them but the only time I've ever come close was on a Law trip when our bags were searched. The teacher warned us about ten minutes before we went into court and I managed to bin it all.

Voldemort 02-11-2007 12:10 AM

I was just trying to help. It doesn't bother me.

quautia 02-11-2007 12:53 AM

I don't carry any tools with me as I'm trying very hard to get back into recovery, and want to avoid cutting as much as possible.

I used to carry tools with me, and never got caught. I never drew attention to it, so no one ever suspected or checked.

this is serious tipsharing tbh.

Would my post above be counted as tip-sharing? (I ask because I'm new and don't want to post anything wrong, thanks)

I'm not a mod so I can't tell people what to post, but what you wrote seems fine. I just don't think it's a good idea to tell people how to smuggle blades or tools!

KaraZor-El 02-11-2007 01:35 AM

I used to carry a blade with me, wrapped in a Kleenex... I threw one out once when we went to a concert (Iron Maiden^.^) and they were using those hand held metal detectors. Luckily, I was able to get it out and throw it into the trash can. I don't carry any on me anymore, cuz you can never tell where people will poke their noses in to...

Sans Peur 02-11-2007 01:55 AM

used to when i felt i was going through a hard time but to me that leads to more temptation.to go straight to the blade when something goes wrong when you are not at home.you dont learn to deal with the siuation rationally without hurting yourself.

also you need to be careful with having blades on you because if you get caught by the police you may get in a lot of trouble

Really good vibe we've got on this thread right now.

I used to carry tools with me everywhere; didn't feel right not having them with me, though I only used whatever I had with me at the time twice in the past six months.

Ashleygray 02-11-2007 02:27 AM

There seems to me some tention going on arround here doesn't there....
Anyway, this thread wasn't meant for tip sharing..
I was asking "IF" people carried blades .. not "HOW"

soo, no more saying how please!

Red 02-11-2007 03:49 AM

I have snuggled a scissors in work to the toliets. Think people saw but never said.
I have had odd items that I keep with me but nothing obvious.
I have a routine so never like to do it away from my comfort zone unless needed.
Bit dangerous to carry blades with you, especially if you get caught.

Not going to talk more due to the fear of tipsharing.

took them to high school for a week once and got caught - almost got expelled.

Amaryllis 02-11-2007 04:53 AM

I always have something with me. But I never do it unless I have bandaging with me as well.

~invisible~girl~ 02-11-2007 06:20 AM

I carried a blade with me to work for a while a little over a year ago. And used it several times. I don't think that job was very good for me... But normally I don't carry a blade except if I'm going somewhere for a few days or longer. And when I do have a blade with me, I also always have a few band-aids and some neosporin, even though I rarely even use band-aids anymore since there's usually too many cuts nearby for it to fit, and I end up using gauze instead, but for some reason it's still always band-aids in my travel kit (which used to be where I kept my blades not for travel as well, but they've recently migrated to my desk drawer for some reason).

It's not illegal to carry a blade here. At least not the kind I use. Heck, it's not even illegal to carry a gun if you have a license. So I don't have to worry about getting caught if I just have a blade in my bag when I'm walking around on the street or at work or whatever.

The only time that I've carried blades that I might have been 'caught' is that I've carried blades through airport security several times when I either didn't have any checked bags, or couldn't deal with having them out of my possesion for that long (my mom alway tells me to put a change of clothes in my carry on in case the airline loses my bags - same idea). I've actually done that a fair amount, and I've never been caught. The closest I came was once they actually hand searched my bag after they x-rayed it, and the opened the front pocket that had the pouch with my blades in it, but it turned out that they were actually looking for my calculator, and missed the blades entirely. It does make me wonder about airport security that they diligently confiscate water bottles and check graphing calculators, but yet routinely fail to notice actual weapons...

KaraZor-El 02-11-2007 09:02 AM

I left my blades at home when I had to take an airplane because I was afraid of security finding it in front of my whole youth group. That would not have been fun. So I think I just clipped a safety pin somewhere.

And that is quite disturbing that they didn't see your blades.:/

And your JubJub looks so sad! I want to cuddle it!^.^

~invisible~girl~ 02-11-2007 09:19 AM

It is disturbing that they haven't seen my blades, especially since it wasn't even just a one time thing - I've done it probably at least a dozen times. On the other hand, considering that I can barely draw blood with them when I'm trying to, and my other arm is cooperating, I don't think I could really use them as a weapon against someone else who might actually be fighting back, and I'm pretty sure they'd be no match for the cockpit doors, which I've heard are supposed to be bullet-proof, so it probably doesn't much matter. But I never carry blades through if I'm with my parents (or anyone else, for that matter), because then if security did find them, I'd have to explain it to them, and not just the random TSA people (and probably a cop or two) that I'm never going to see again anyway.

And yeah, my JubJub is sad :(

Artyom 02-11-2007 09:37 AM

i used to keep one in my backpack when i went to school like 9th and 10th grade, but not anymore. and i never got caught with them
