Signpost: What to post and where to post.
 

Seeking Support on the RYL forums.

Currently, there are often posts in Serious which would be more suited to another support board, most often mental health or general support and advice, and recently these have been moved out by the moderators. Serious discussion should only be used for threads that do not belong in any other board, such as those that cover serious, complex or urgent issues, such as suicidal feelings, or threads that relate

Other support boards may be more appropriate for the following:

• General Support and Advice:
  Support and advice on any general topic such as home life, school and relationships. Remember to use the other support boards for all posts specifically related to self harm and/or mental health issues.
  
• Self Injury Discussion:
  Covers all areas of self injury. This forum includes advice, information, recovery and support. Any first aid post should be posted in the First Aid forum.
  
• Eating Disorder Support:
  This forum concentrates on giving support and information to those who feel ready to recover from an eating disorder. Please try to avoid glamorising or encouraging any form of eating disorder.
  
• Mental Health Discussion:
  Information, advice and support on all mental health related topics. For support on substance abuse and bereavement, please see the sub-forums linked within. This includes issues related to depression, mania, psychosis, medication or inpatient stays.

Also, some questions regarding medication such as side effects/ withdrawals when you don't want personal experience but facts are often better off in First Aid. The First Aid Forum should also be the place to go when asking for medical stuff which may or may not be related to an ED.
